How could such a Small Virus be so Mortal? by Nicat Gahramanli
Nowadays, the world is going through difficult times. All of us know very well today’s agenda. Because at the every tv channels, on the internet, each social media accounts this topic is talking – Coronavirus epidemic. Of course, it is not the first and as I see it will not be the last. With a short overview over the history of human being, we can easily find out quite a lot number of pandemics. Like, the Black Death, Plague of Justinian, Spanish flu and so on. And the next one is COVID-19. It is fearful dream of the world now. Many scientists and thinkers warned people that if such an epidemic occurred, the world health system is not ready to stand for that. And today we see that not only health system, also politicians and people in government administration are not ready for that. At this blog I will take a look from the political window to this crucial issue.
This virus is that, which the most of scientists unanimously claim that this virus was produced in laboratories. This virus is that, which authorities said that “There is no need to protect yourself, soon or later 70%-80% of the world population will be influenced”. What does this sentence mean to you? Does not it mean that everything is planned long time ago? And today we are actors of that scenario? How authorized people-whose are at that position because of our votes can give up without fighting against the virus?

There were numerous gaps in management during pandemia. The first news that surprised/confused me came from Sweden. While China and Italy were suffering from the Coronavirus and most of the countries closing the workplaces and schools gradually Sweden did not take a serious measures instead of them government officials said there is no need to panic to be able to have the immune everyone should be infected. But then they realized that human body can’t gain the immune against this virus alone. And that is why Sweden is at the first place in Scandinavia by 10,483 cases.
The next ironic fact is about countries which announced that they will come back to the normal life conditions soon and the schools and work places will start to work like before the lackdown. For me, it is very confused decision while giant countries like USA, UK, Germany, Italy and Spain are suffering from the same widespread virus, while the WHO (World Health Organisation) declared and listed this epidemic in pandemia (although they did it too late). What those countries really want to do? Do they do this deliberately, or are they really not aware of the seriousness of the situation?
Another factor that caused the epidemic to be so mortal and spread widely is the World Health Organization that made opposite statements. In the early days of the virus spreading, WHO announced that it is not a mortal disease. It is like influence, no need to wear mask and worried about that. But after a short time they said that our estimates are wrong everyone should wear masks and protect themselves. And that is why, today, many authorities and organizations, including Trump and White House, blame WHO because of the spreading of this virus.
We can increase the number of suspicious facts which prove that, COVID-19 did not spread out so wide areas by itself. First of them are lack of supervision. As Stephen Sirris mentioned on his web lecture at MACOMM 5210 based upon Teslo’s definition “Supervision is a systematic professional and personal process of learning where knowledge, experience, wisdom and phronesis are aids to reflexive realizing. In a field of recognization, the foundation is laid for helping the adept`s wishes to improve his actions.” (Teslo, 2006:22) and secondly “secret hand” that consciously tries to spread it. Or just the invisible hand.
